Coffs Harbour is a small coastal city in Northern New South Wales. 532 kilometres north of Sydney and 394 south of Brisbane; it’s a picturesque spot, with an interesting mix of landscape features. Sandy beaches, protected forests; Coffs Harbour is the point where the great Dividing Ranges meet the sea. You can go for a rainforest walk in your lunch break, just 10 minutes from the CBD. Very popular with professionals who move from the bigger cities looking for work-life balance; Coffs Harbour- with a permanent population of just under 70,000 - was judged the world’s most liveable city in 2002. And In 2005, they won a national prize for an innovative project to revitalise the inner city precinct.

The Coffs Harbour climate is sub tropical, but it doesn’t get too hot. The local council says their weather is perfect- and they are not just showing off. The CSIRO agrees that it’s the most liveable climate in Australia. With average summer days of 27°, average winter days of 19°, and much lower humidity than Queensland, it’s fair to say the weather is a big draw card for people migrating to Coffs Harbour.

As well as the professions and services needed in any city; the main industries in Coffs Harbour are banana cropping, some manufacturing, and tourism. There are several national parks near the city, and lots of holiday accommodation: everything from beachside resorts and boutique bed & breakfasts to camping grounds.

Family life is good in Coffs Harbour. As well as 46 sports grounds and hundreds of sport teams for all ages and levels; there are a variety of schools. On top of the excellent public schools Australia is famous for, there are alternatives like the Casuarina Rudolf Steiner School, The Bishop Druitt Anglican College and John Paul Catholic College. The Southern Cross University and the North Coast TAFE both have major campuses at Coffs Harbour.
