Paddington is a suburb of Brisbane that is 2 kilometres west from the central business district. This hilly inner city suburb borders Red Hill and Milton suburbs. Through the years it has grown to be an economically stable area because of its closeness to the city. Young families as well as professional have lured the city not just because of its rapid developments but its attractions, easy access, and simple and affordable way of life. Visitors too have been coming back here to experience a cool and laid back atmosphere, away from their busy urban lives.

When you come here, you can see that Paddington has so much to offer. First, it has a wide ranging selection of accommodation for tourists. Here you can see worker cottages which are renovated giving the area unique feel of historic Brisbane. You can choose to stay at B&Bs and cottages. There are also townhouses and apartments available for those who want to enjoy the city longer. If you want to move here, take note that the city is dominantly composed of residential dwellings which are of low up to medium density. Most homes here are located on hill crest providing a wonderful skyline view.

You may not realize it but schools in an area are some of the sites that make it rather attractive. As for Paddington, it has a variety of schools including Ithaka Creek State School, Kelvin Grove State College, and Red Hill Special School. The schools available in the area are also reasons why many are attracted to raise their families in Paddington.

In Brisbane, shopping cannot be missed out even in its small suburbs. When you visit Paddington, you cannot omit shopping in your itinerary since it has some wonderful shopping strips. Its major commercial areas where dining and shopping establishments abound are the Latrobe Terrace, Given Terrace, Rosalie Village. Here you can find some of the best cafes, boutiques, and restaurants in Brisbane. At any of these shopping complexes you can do whatever it is that you want including banking transactions, doing the grocery, mailing packages, and even getting your teeth fixed.

The suburb has become even more popular with its Green Precinct. This is a well known destination for organic and eco friendly shopping. There are locally owned businesses in the area where you can find stores that gears towards fostering a greener economy. If you want to enjoy the night away until the wee hours you can go to Caxton Street which is Paddington’s dining district. Here you can enter some of the suburbs best night spot. AT the end of this street are the Barracks which is a newly renovated historical building which serves as a great background for alfresco cafes.

If you have kids with you, they can also enjoy this wonderful suburb. The Woolcock Park is a popular park for kids. Moreover, if you have a dog with you, the Gilbert Park is a dog friendly park where you can take your pet for a walk or a jog.
